COVID-19 Soccer Update

Hello Parents,

While a lot has changed over the past week, I wanted to send an update on where we stand with our current soccer situation.  Since my last email, we still have not received any new updates from US Youth Soccer or US Soccer. Please see a list of updates below regarding our current programs and the information we have at this moment.

3rd Session Indoor Soccer - The last update we had from NC Soccer was the season was suspended until the end of March.  We have no new information at this time. Once anything new has been released, we will share that with you.

Spring Enrichment Programs - We have been in communication with your center’s director and are still monitoring the situation with them and the information that is coming from the Ohio’s Governor's Office.  At this time we know we will not be starting as planned but have not entirely canceled the spring season. A couple of options are to extend the spring season, shorten the upcoming season, or worst case will be to entirely cancel the season.  Once we have more information, we will be able to share that with you.

Spring Teams (Rec/Travel/Premier) - There have been no new communications from our sanctioning leagues.  The last update we had was that soccer would resume in the middle of April. We can tell you there have been talks concerning extending the spring season and/or reducing the season length.  There have been no communications from any of the leagues we participate in that our seasons will be canceled at this time. Once new information is available, we will share that with you immediately.

I know there is not a lot of new information here but I did want to keep in contact with you and let you know where we stand at this time.  These are definitely trying times for us, our children, our community, and our game. It is my hope that all of us stay healthy and when we get the “all clear” we will be ready to get back to some level of normalcy and our kids will all be able to get back to the game they love!

For those of you with older aged players (6 and up), I am developing training videos to help our players stay involved in the game during this time.  It is my goal to produce at least two videos a week that will include training ideas, drills, and other soccer related material so our players will be ready when we get back at it.  Below you will find links to my social media platforms where these videos will be shared.

I hope to be in touch very soon with some great news!  It is my wish that we all stay healthy, supportive of each other, and use this time to connect with our children, spouses, and loved ones. May we also reflect on ourselves as coaches, parents, players, and human beings. Thank you for being a part of our soccer family! We will get through this together and will be better because of it.

Sincerely,

Coach Jim
